Festival Vancouver, Coal Harbour, and Gas Town -

Today was yet another gorgeous summer day in Vancouver. It was bloody hot!

As I found out yesterday, a Jazz festival event Festival Vancouver just started recently. During the event, they have a string of free Jazz concerts around Vancouver as well as paid concerts. They had two shows at the Vancouver Art Gallery for free. The two bands performed at the venue, Jayme Stone and Mansa Sissoko and Orquesta Goma Dura, were both excellent! The former played some pop Jazz music mixed with some distinctive African music, while the latter performed lively salsa music which allowed a fair amount of people to dance under the scorching weather.

After the shows at the art gallery, I did a bit more "work" (or some may say sunbathing) in Coal Harbour. I am not sure where they came from, but I saw fighting jet aircrafts flying over downtown Vancouver.

I also went to the Historic Gastown for a bit of photoshoot because I have never taken photos of the steam clock. I took photos both while the sun was still out and in the evening. I think the photos in the evening came out much better or more striking.

Jayme Stone and Mansa Sissoko
