2009!③ - Trip to Shikoku 2009 Part Three!

----------

Time flew so quickly and today is the final day of our trip to Shikoku. Due to the itinerary change, we were leaving at 7:30AM. That meant we had no time to relax and have a bath. Although we had a beautiful sunny morning, we had no time to enjoy the sunrise either.

We drove into Kochi city after a long journey with the view of Ashizuri and Shimanto River. We were supposed to stay in a hotel that's built on the land where Ryoma Sakamoto was born, while we could have enjoyed the Kochi Castle. As we saw the magnificent castle, I wished we could have stayed in this city.

Finally, we arrived in Katsurahama. But, because of aggressive itinerary due to schedule change, we only had time for taking photos. The beach was great with lovely sunshine...

After driving through the mountains, we got to Kazurabashi Bridge. It's a beautiful set-up with the bridge hanging over Soya River. But, again, we only had time for photoshooting. My concern before the tour started has become reality. While we were talking about whether we could make it to our bullet train, this old man showed up 20mins late for departure. To make the matter worse, he not only didn't apologise to us but came back with beaming smile on his face. I really wanted to punch this muppet. Because of this moron, we had to cancel our visit to Ohboke valley. What's wrong with this dick-head seemingly not caring at all?!

After driving alongside the mountains even further, we went to Konpiragu Temple after driving past Ikeda High School that is famous for high school baseball. My mum, who said 'no way' to climbing the 785 steps to the temple, was forced to give it a try at the last minute because most people were trying. :-) Although it's hard, my mum managed to climb to the top! My mum was really pleased, and I was so pleased for her guts while she was concerned about her legs. We were rewarded with stunning view of the mountains from the top and also an amulet that can be only purchased here.

We were supposed to have free time here too, but that's it. And we were supposed to go to Seto Ohashi Memorial Park and ride a boat back to the mainland, but we instead drove the bridge. We had pleasant view from the bridge, but I wish we could have enjoyed the view from the park.

The final day was far from satisfying, as our worry became reality. But we were saved by the humour of our tour guide. Without her, this tour could have been a disaster. Our tour guide from Kochi-ken Kotsu, thank you!

We were so knackered on the bullet train. Apart from the final day, it was a satisfying trip to Shikoku. I am glad that my mum and brother also enjoyed it!
